Dare we go there? ……….Well, before you tear into us, let’s be clear—we use both.
As a lifelong PC user, constantly tweaking, tinkering, and upgrading, I have to admit—I love the Apple platform. It’s sleek, mobile, and integrates seamlessly with iPhones. The built-in apps are genuinely useful, and Apple laptops? They’re well-built, ergonomic, and just feel good to use.
That said (and not without a tinge of nostalgia), I’ve almost exclusively used PCs in, well… let’s call it a corporate-type setting. The upside? Familiarity with Microsoft. But beyond that, working on PCs is fun.
I have a personal preference for working on things, understanding how they function, and making them better. Testing, tweaking, and refining—that’s just part of my DNA. The thrill of upgrading, the dopamine hit when an Amazon package arrives with a new component—it’s real. You get a rush when you place the order, another when it arrives, and that final wave of satisfaction when you install it successfully. Of course, that joy can vanish in an instant when the credit card bill shows up at the end of the month. (Hopefully, not always the case.)
Then there’s the character building—the patience and problem-solving skills you develop when a brand-new part refuses to work, demanding all your cognitive firepower to troubleshoot. Not to mention the lessons in diplomacy when someone critiques your cable management skills.
So, where do we land on the great PC vs. Mac debate? Well… why not both? Owning both a PC and a MacBook gives you the best of both worlds. With iCloud (and other cloud services), syncing files and content across devices is effortless. Worried about software compatibility? That’s barely a concern anymore—most major applications are cross-platform, and workarounds like virtual machines or cloud-based tools make any gaps easy to overcome.
PCs shine with their modular, upgradable nature, offering endless customization and power. But that doesn’t mean Apple doesn’t bring its own strengths to the table—seamless integration, sleek design, and a polished ecosystem. So, why choose? We say embrace both and enjoy the ultimate personal computing experience!
